Stardate:2407.01.30 (USS Nimitz- Captain's Quarters - CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0600) Tossing and turning in his bed, Devan Sash could see the eyes looking at him from within. Bright, green, beautiful eyes. Then there was the laugh. it was always present, always so evil, always digging away at his soul. He could never escape, no matter what. Sash's eyes flicked open. His mind was on alert. Something was wrong, but he just couldn't think what. Looking around, there was no alert. But there was a sense of wrongness. He reached over for his comm badge and tapped it, as he sat up. "Sash to bridge, status?" There was a slight sound of frantic hustling and a freightened voice came back. =^=There's no change from last night Captain. I would have informed you immediately...=^= Sash shook his head, trying to shake out the cobwebs. "Of course you would. Sorry to bother you. Sash out." He mumbled to himself. "Get a grip old man." Then there was amotion in the bed beside him. A hand moved over and began to rub his abs. "Mmmm... " a most feminine voice spoke, "lay back down so we can have a repeat of last night." Sash lept from the bed, the bed clothes flying back. Laying in his bed was Debbie Weston, completely naked. It was obvious what they'd been doing, but Sash couldn't remember any of it. His eyes narrowed. "What...? How...? When...?" he just couldn't find the words to finish his questions. "Are you going to finish any of those questions?" Weston asked, playfully. Sash's mind raced to try and figure out what was going on. He decided it was time to get up anyway. He mumbled something about getting to the bridge and made his way to the bathroom, to get cleaned up and dressed. When he came back Weston was still in the bed, still uncovered, this time she was laying, stretched out and inviting. "You sure you want to go to work early today?" she asked. "Positive," Sash replied curtly. "You want to get together again tonight?" she began to look and sound a little put out. "Let's see how the day goes," Sash recommended, distantly. Weston threw a pillow at him. "Bastard, I 've heard about your call backs." Sash shrugged his shoulders, "Then why'd you agree to last night. You can let yourself out." With that he left his quarters, finally getting a good look at his own uniform and was surprised by the difference. Then as he looked at the uniforms of those he was passing he suddenly recognized the differences. ~Holy crap!! What the ...~ It couldn't be. How could he be here? What happened to bring him here? It just didn't make sense. Officers stopped to salute him as he passed them in the hall way. Many stopped their conversations and watched him coming in abject fear. Sash had seen the look before. He had had that look on his own face when he was here before. Somehow , he 's been transported to the Mirror Universe, as it had been dubbed. He managed to get to the turbo lift and absent mindedly ordered it to the bridge. He suddenly wondered if that were a good idea. He had to figure out what was going on, and the bridge was the best way toget that information. As the turbo lift moved he suddenly wondered if this meant that his doppelganger was on his Nimitz in their universe. That could get ugly, pretty quick. (USS Nimitz- Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0630) The turbolift door opened and Sash stepped off. He looked around the bridge. The similarities were enough to make him comfortable moving through the bridge, but the differences were apparent. First was the Empire symbol that was adorned on the walls. The colors were much darker and the lighting dimmer, giving the bridge a greater feeling of forboding, which was it's design for anyone not used to being there. He looked down at Bixx, who was still at the Ops station. She looked back him with a fire in her eyes. Sash ignored it and looked over at the Brikar. He stepped over to him. "Status Mr. Tagon?" he asked. "We have not gotten the spatial rift device on line yet, but I have been... motivating the science team." The look in the Brikar's face, and the sound of his voice made him shudder as to his methid of motivation. "Keep me informed," Sash said. He stepped down to the command center where Jeff Hyland was sitting. He noted the reluctance to which his FO relieved himself of the chair. "Commander," Sash nodded at Hyland, "ship status?" (reply Hyland) Sash listened to the report. He couldn't help but notice the vitriolic look that the FO kept giving him. Sash knew that his life was in danger with this man. Promotion in the Federation Empire was through attrition, and Hyland looked like he was buckking for promotion. Once Hyloand was through Sash nodded. "You may stay at the conn, commander. I'll be in my ready room. Let me know when Alpha shift comes on." (reply Hyland) (USS Nimitz- Ready Room- CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0640) As Sash stepped through the doorway his instincts tingled and he took a side step. This was most fortunate as dagger slashed at him. Instead of being driven into his chest, it hit him in the shoulder. Without thinking Sash's Angosian instincts took over, and he went on the offensive. With a blow from his fist and an open hand strike to his assailants face, the man, in a security uniform, staggered back. He drew out another knife and lunged at the captain. Sash dodged it easily. he grabbed the man's wrist and with a quick twisting move the knife, still in the assailants hand, plunged into his own chest. Sash stepped back to watch as the assailant dropped to the floor. He looked down at the large knife sticking out of his own shoulder. He tapped his comm badge. "Sash to security, to my ready room. Sash to medical, I have need of your services." (reply any) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Personal Quarters - CSO, Holis Gralen and ACMO, Dr. Michaella Kirien - 0605) Holis woke and felt the cold hard metal pressed against his ankle and pushed with his foot against the delicate collor encircling the throat of the young woman who lay at his feet. "What are you doing on my bed girl?" He asked with irritation heavy in his voice. He reached down and grabbed a handful of long, pale hair and pulled it painfully as he turned her head toward him. "Lights at 1/4." He said as she looked at him with frightened eyes. She looked up into his eyes, scared. Her voice was very soft as she replied, "My Lord and Master, I do not know. I am sorry, please, Sire, i meant no disrespect." He made a disgusted sound in his throat as he looked at her coldly. "Do you think because I put this band of metal about your throat that you have made some advancement in my opinion?" He reached out with his mind and gave her a hard mental blow which caused her to be dizzy and nauseated. She fell off the bed, being ungrounded, and looked up in abject terror at her Master. She loathed the Captain, for what she had done to fall from his high esteem and end up at the hands of this cruel and unusual man. "See that it does not happen again." He said with a sneer as he rolled off the bed and lifted the naked girl from the floor then pulled her up to her knees. Her Master let her alone with her feelings of hate, they seemed to fuel him, encourage him to new heights. But he made damn sure that she knew that she had brought this upon herself, by failing in her duty to save the previous CSO's life. Of course the Captain would give her to the new underling, one of his discarded whores.... She looked up as her Master walked away, keeping her rebellious thoughts under a tight shield. He looked down at her properly submissive pose with her chin down and looking toward the floor and gave a derisive smile then turned away and walked to the lavaratory. She leaned back against the wall, her pose relaxing as she realized she was late for her shift....and that he hadn't unlocked her. It wouldn't be the first day her Master had left her chained to her bed. Mostly he gave her her duties in sickbay, but they were a priviledge....and her daughters.... She didn't like where her thoughts on that one went. She had a vague idea that the Captain had taken her twin girls for his own...and she didn't like that one bit. She yelped as her Master appeared in from of her, then quickly kissed his feet. ::Forgive me...:: She whispered into his mind. Holis looked down at her with a bored __expression as she worked to worm her way back into his good graces and his eyes traveled over her silky form and to the collar at her neck that was attached to a chain all the way to a ring of metal that had been welded to the floor. Since his morning ritual had been completed he considered his next steps, he was up a bit early and had some time to kill which he could use to amuse himself. He gave her a sneer as she pressed her lips to his feet. :: If you please me well this morning perhaps I will allow you to assume your duties today although I don't know what they would do with a near worthless tidbit such as yourself.:: Holis laughed then, a laugh full of scorn and derision, one that was guaranteed to chill the blood. Her heart nearly broke for a moment, remembering the alternating abuse and praise that had turned her from a recovering widow into the quivering mass of slavegirl at his feet. He hit the one thing that he knew she couldn't stand, being called worthless. He took hold of the chain just below her collar and lifted her up and pushed her toward the bed then followed her with a feral grin on his face. She gasped as she landed on the bed and her Master appeared beside her.... no, he wasn't her Master...he was a sadistic man, but he didn't deserve the title of Master. Why was she so afraid of him ? He was on top of her in an instant, and she froze for a second, allowing him to get her into the position he wanted. She then began to fight back against him, nails, teeth and mind. ::YOU ARE NOT MY MASTER!!:: She screamed at him, kicking him hard. ::AND I AM NOT WORTHLESS!:: She declared. He laughed and got rough with her then, after taking his fill of her despite her best efforts he sent to her.:: I admit when worked up you are far hotter and more pleasing.:: The chain, collar and lock were tuned to his biosignature and with a twist he removed the chain from her collar. ::Get cleaned up and go your way, when I return I will expect you to try harder to be pleasing or I will punish you.:: With that he got up and made his way back to the lavaratory to get cleaned up and dressed. She watched him leave with a murderous gaze, and then quickly got dressed and fled. She knew she would be back that night.... She couldn't stay away from him. He had altered her mind to crave his touch.... She had tried to stay away once, and the restlessness was only slightly worse than the beating her Master had delivered for being displeasing. (Reply: None) (Posted by Charles and Melinda) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Personal quarters - CSO, Holis Gralen - 0625) Holis both heard and felt the female leave his quarters sobbing and grinned to himself in satisfaction as he looked at himself in the mirror, the thin scar above his left eyebrow was a badge of honor and proof that he himself was still on top of his game after these few months on the ISS Nimitz. Michaella would try to cover up the collar she wore, he knew that just as he knew the compulsion he had placed firmly and deeply in her mind would drive her back to his quarters. He had heard reports of her doing so and each time she tried to cover up her slavery to and dependence on him he would punish her even more. "Perhaps I will break her of her will in that endeavor... or break her in the process," He said quietly to himself. "But then again what does it matter? She is only another female." Of course he knew it went deeper than that, the pleasure he was receiving from breaking her will was greater than any aphrodisiac. He stretched his taut muscles and slipped on his shirt then turned and walked back into his chamber and pulled on the calf high, glossy black boots then pinned the combadge with it's distinctive dagger plunging through the heart of the badge upon his shirt as he turned to the door, his man of war mien etched firmly on his face as he walked into the hall with the phaser and dagger attached firmly to his belt and his eyes darting to each and every person he met on the way to the turbolift like a circling snake. (ISS Nimitz- Deck 6, CSO's office- CSO, Holis Gralen - 0630) The Betazoid walked lightly down the hallway past the science offices, his every sense attuned to danger, his last two ACSOs had tried to take him out and been foiled, the thing they couldn't seem to fathom was the variety of ways a man could be killed by modern means and had tried the old tried and tested methods of phaser shots and dagger thrusts. The first attempt had been by phaser and Holis had thought himself a goner there for a while, fortunately the bribes he had been giving to the medical department had paid off and they had not just let him die as the former Vulcan CSO had, at least that was the story he tormented Michaella with. After returning to duty he had tutored Johnson first hand on just what high energy gamma radiation could do to a living being when exposed in the hyper energy chamber in the High energy physics lab. Johnson had gone in at Holis' orders sweating all the way at the point of his phaser. The horrific burns on the corpse had served as a warning after that. Jenkins had tried next with a knife thrust in the dark sometime later, a sonic device Holis had developed and taken to carrying concealed in one pocket had burst his eardrums and turned his brain to mush, it had been almost a mercy killing to finish him off, that wasn't Holis' style but the stroke had to be finished or they would have thought him soft which would have been far from the truth, he would preferred for him to live in torment. The door to his office opened and he put his hand in his pocket before stepping through, the last stupid ***tard had thought it gave him an edge, Holis had kept his little invention a secret... While eyes were on the weapons displayed prominently on his belt death would hover above them. Seeing his office was empty he sauntered in with a superior grin on his face and ordered himself a cup of coffee from the replicator before downloading the reports from the evening onto a PADD, he then took the PADD with him as he left the office. (ISS Nimitz- Bridge - CSO, Holis Gralen - 0635) Holis stepped off the turbolift into a simmering cauldron of hate, he could feel it crawling on his skin as he crawfished toward his station, the Gerratlian CEO and the Captain were facing off against Tagon and Hyland and in the background several of the other bridge officers were watching the display and weighing how they might use it to their advantage. Holis palmed his little sonic scrambler in the palm of his left hand as he backed up to Science 1, he set the PADD on the console with his right hand to clear it for action in case he needed two weapons. (Reply: Any) (Posted by Charles) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Nimitz - Deck 10, Sickbay - ACMO Dr. Jonas Lemar - 0629) Since he first woke an hour ago he had been in a foul mood. Not only had he been awake for most of the night clearing up after that bumbling idiot they called the Chief Medical Officer, he had been constantly distracted fixing up moronic crewmen who had decided to get themselves into a late-night brawl in 10-forward. Jonas had half a mind to kick them all out to heal on their own but he knew the commander would be down on his ass again in the morning if he didn't get everyone fixed up. So now he was even more grumpy than usual, a banging headache and a stuffy head and still feeling drowsy. However, one of the advantages of being the ships doctor was you didn't need to ask for anything in the medical stores. As he arrived in sickbay the doors slide open as usual and he strode toward the CMO's office. As he approached he could he the loud snores and raspy breathe of Kinkaid. He entered and almost stumbled backward as the stench hit him like he had walked into a brick wall. With a shake of his head and a look of disgust on his face he entered the office, "Foul ... you're a disgrace to your profession!" he said as he made his way straight to the replicator beside the desk. As he stood beside the snorting CMO, Jonas kicked at the seat that barely supported the large frame of the Texan. The seat gave way and fell backward, sending the CMO crashing into the bulkhead. Jonas laughed out loud, completely unable to restrain himself. As the doctor got to his feet looking bewildered Jonas asked, "Late night BigWill?" (reply: Kinkaid IYW) He looked back to the replicator and took up the hypospray that he had ordered and injected himself in his fore-arm. As the drug entered his system he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, immediately feeling its effects. He straightened his back, stretching his shoulders and cracking the joints of his neck, "Ah, much better!" Without waiting for further response from his superior he marched out to the main area of sickbay. ~The day he leaves this ship will be a sad day for ten-forward~ With a smile he continued, ~Alcohol sales will drop by 50%~. He chuckled to himself for a moment then continued, ~We'd all be better off without him~ Long had Jonas had his eyes set on the position of CMO and long had Kinkaid been the way of that goal. Unlimited resources, unlimited freedom for medical and scientific experiment - the possibilities were endless ... and right now they were wasted as the only interested the current CMO had was how big his next feed was and where his hip-flask was located. =^= Sash to medical, I have need of your services =^= Jonas stopped beside one of the experimental consoles. He glanced back to the office to see the CMO still fumbling to find his bearings and wake up. With a shake of his head he glared over at two of the nursing staff, "Get on up to him and see what he needs!" At his command two nurses, one male and one female, left sickbay, the large doors closely sharply behind them. No sooner had they closed they opened again and two children entered. They were the Kirien-Wilson girls. ~Oh great, the brats are here~ he thought turning and pretending not to have noticed them. She regarded the man coldly and noticed as Devan went out of his way to not even give her a second glance. More recently she had been 'with' Devan. In truth, she had worked her way into his inner circle and slept her way through the ranks with him. Now he had cast her aside in favour of a less demanding Engineer Weston. She fought to overcome the urge to openly sneer at the man. Dartena would be more than pleased to help Hyland later. Maybe a little 'arrangement' could be worked out with the commander. After all, she knew Devan's quirks, his tastes, his behaviours and his habits. Maybe she could help Hyland get rid of Sash and take command, and in return she could move up to FO. ~If I could I'd kill him just as readily as I stabbed the life out of that annoying alien on the last planet we were on. I'm sure their planet is crumbling without their wonderful head scientsit,~ Dartena thought. The people of Terellia had resisted Imperial rule for the last time. The punishment for their insolence would be the death of their planet. The Nimitz had been dispatched to ensure that it was painful and slow enough so that the populace would 'get the point'. Toeshary had attempted to stop them, had begged with them and pleaded. He was weak and a coward when Dartena brandished her phaser. He had cowered afraid. Dartena had decided that he wasn't worth the weapon energy and instead had used her dagger. The scientist's blood had sated both the dagger's and her blood lust. She thought it was time to prove her worth, and decided to go straight for the captain. No one was watching now, and she started to dig through the cage's floor. She found that there was a piece of metal below that, and decided it would be smart to drop down a level. He bared his fangs as he slowly swept the bridge with his gaze, sending many of the crew near him scattering in fear quick to get out of immediate arms reach of the large ursine. Zzt smiled wickedly, meeting Tagon's gaze squarely. The two had a long running feud and it was well known on the ship that only the Captain kept the two behemoths from clashing. Keeping his eyes on Tagon, Zzt marched across the Bridge toward the Ready Room door and pushing the buzzer. (Reply Sash) As the door opened Zzt stepped inside, his keen sense of smell immediately detecting the smell of fresh blood. Zzt looked down as the door closed behind him. His smile grew wide. "I didn't know you were providing breakfast Captain," Zzt said through the universal translator he had strapped on one arm. Zzt reached down with one paw and easily lifted the 200 pound corpse off the floor. Slowly and deliberately, Zzt licked around the bloody wound in the dead man's chest, enjoying the rich flavor of human blood. "De-lic-ious," Zzt murmured as he looked up at the Captain. "You really shouldn't walk about without me or one of your other body guards Sir. You know Hyland and his pet Tagon are ever eager for a promotion." Just then the Ready Room doors opened to admit a security detail and a medical team. Zzt turned and scowled at Tagon who was leading the security detail. With one giant stride, Zzt moved over to Sash's side keeping his eyes on Tagon. (Reply Sash, Tagon, Any) (Posted by Wes) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Nimitz- Ready Room- CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0643) When the door opened Sash was pleasantly surprised to see that it was Zzt coming through the door. But to his dismay, the behavior that the Gerratlian exhibited was as feral as the beast that he looked like. He could see the nostril's flair as they caught the scent of fresh blood. Zzt turned to face him, but the look was far from the Zzt's that he knew. "I didn't know you were providing breakfast Captain," Zzt said. The first thing that struck Sash as odd, was that Zzt' s voice sounded... normal. Not normal for Zzt, but human normal. There were no broken words or mixed up sentences. Then he realized that Zzt was not using Federation standard language. He was using his native tongue and a universal translator. The next thing that struck Sash was Zzt's actions. He picked up the body of the dead man and began to lick the blood from around his wounds. Sash fought his stomach to keep whatever was in it down. What kind of a universe could turn gentle and caring Zzt into this ... beast. Then he remembered where he was. "Delicious," Zzt said, almost lovingly. Then he looked at the captain, as if he first notice Sash's own injury. "You really shouldn't walk about without me or one of your other body guards Sir. You know Hyland and his pet Tagon are ever eager for a promotion." "I was..." Sash looked at Zzt, who seemed to truely care about the life of his captain, "careless, distracted... I will not be so again." At those words the door opened and in came Tagon with a small security detail. Zzt moved beside Sash in a protective stance. The Brikar practically ingnored the look that Zzt gave him. Without even asking the captain of his condition he pointed to the body Zzt was still carrying. "I will need that. Tell it to give the body over," he said refering to Zzt. Zzt's lips curled back in a snarl, which Tagon, again, ignored. Sash nodded to Zzt, who unceremoniously dropped the body to the floor. Tagon's head barely moved and the security team rushed over to pick the body up. They paused in front of Tagon, who glanced down at the face of the dead man. "Ramirez," he said quietly, "what a waste. Dispose of it." The team rushed out of the door, leaving Tagon alone with the Captain, Zzt and the medical team, who were looking at the captain's wound. "I want to know who sent him!" Sash demanded. "And I want to know by the time I'm out of sickbay. Tagon bowed his head slightly, "I'll be sure to find out," he replied, his voice thick with sarcasm. Then he let his gaze fall upon Zzt. He sniffed and said under his breath, "I'll be sure to see you... later." (reply Zzt) Sash allowed Zzt and the medical team to lead him to sickbay. (USS Nimitz- Sickbay- CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0648) By the time they arrived at sickbay Sash's had managed to lose a substantial quantity of blood. He was begining to feel a bit light headed. However, his genetic manipulation was begining to kick in, and the wound was already beginning to heal on its own. At least the bleeding had stopped. As the doors closed behind Sash and his entourage he heard a familiar voice, which didn't sound all that familiar at the moment. "Who the hell is here, and what the hell do y'all want." It was Kinkaid's Texan drawl, but the words were coming out slightly slurred. Then Kinkaid's rotund form staggered out of his office. He worked hard to get his eyes to focus. Then he noticed who was there, and he seemed to vaguely notice that he was injured. The doctor staggered over to the group. "So," Kinkaid let his alcholic fouled breath flowing over the captain, and his impromptu body guards, "a little careless were we? Over there." He motioned withhis head to a biobed in a semi-private area. Sash's mind was reeling. In his world, this was one of the more prominent doctors, reknown for his research in the medical field. Here, however, he appeared to be some broken down saw bones, who kept himself going through alcoholic binges. He was helped to the bed and Sash dismissed his help. He turned to Zzt. "You better get my body guard down here." (reply Zzt) Sash smiled. In som e ways, this Zzt was just like his own. He lay back and waited for Kinkaid to return, but to his dismay, the CMO did not return. It wasn't long until the forboding figure of Kane came through the doors to sick bay. Sash looked at the blank expression on his face as he came over to the cpatain's biobed. ~So this is my body guard. Somehow it almost makes sense.~ (reply Kane) "Wait by the enterance, and guard it from danger," he told Kane, who seemed more of a mindless drone than an enhanced human. (reply Kane, Zzt any) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz - Deck 10, Sickbay - ACMO Dr. Jonas Lemar - 0648) Already Sickbay was beginning to get busier than usual for this time of day. Hell it wasn't even 0900 and two of the biobeds were full. Jonas had already had enough of the complaining crewmen making demands on him. He had half a mind to give them something to complain about - violent stomach cramps were his favourite prescription to patients like these. And just as things were just about under control the doors opened and a host of other crewman entered, amongst them was Captain Sash. Sash was a strange man, feared by many onboard, hated by nearly everyone. But to Jonas, he was just a man that had worked hard to get where he was and even harder to stay there. Jonas had a lot of admiration for him. NRPG: That's not to say that in the normal reality I think he's a jackass :D :D RPG: Jonas decided to move away to the back offices and work on his experiments as he heard the slurring voice of the CMO, "Who the hell is here, and what the hell do y'all want." Jonas just shook his head as he left the room to approach the apparatus he had set up over the last few weeks. During the siege of Terellia Jonas had found quite a few interesting specimens planet-side that he believed could prove very interesting. As he approached one of the work-benches he paused one of the devices and opened it briefly to view the contents. As he examined it, the biogenic compound inside bubbled slightly. He closed and re-activated the device and decided to look over the results. His eyebrows rose in delight, "These results look very promising. At this rate I'll have something workable by the end of the day" Jonas was very happy indeed. For the past few weeks Jonas had made quite a few breakthroughs in biogenic compounds. It had always been a thrill of his since he was a child. To find a compound that would break down any material would prove invaluable to the war effort. Such a weapon could bring down the freedom revolution that was washing through the federation, seeded at its heart, on earth. Jonas checked the chronometer, "Ah, 0700, time for breakfast I think" he looked around and saw BigWill busy with the Captain, "He won't miss me" he muttered as he headed for the doorway, brushing shoulders with a man standing guard on the other side. The guard jumped slightly, almost surprised by the presence of the doctor. Jonas just grinned and put a finger up to his lips, "Not a word" and he ran off down the corridor. He made his way towards sickbay, the ground trembling with evey step he took. He wasn't a man to step aside for anyone, except the Captain. Crewmembers knew, and stepped aside. Entering sickbay, Kane stepped right up towards Sash. "Reporting for duty Sir!!" He said making a formal salute. "Wait by the enterance, and guard it from danger." Without an reply, Kane turned around and placed himself at the door. Everyone that entered was stopped by him, making a check on them for the safety of his Captain. (reply any) (posted by Anthony Struelens) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (USS Nimitz- Sickbay- CO- Captain Devan Sash and Gabriella and Elizabeth Kirien-Wilson-0652) Sash lay in his bio bed waiting for the screams of his neighbors to subside. he'd forgotten how the sickbay was as much a torture chamber than a medical facility. He knew where he was, and who he was supposed to be. Somehow he was going to have to convince these people that he was their Devan Sash. As his mind contemplated the enormity of the task before him he felt something fall onto his stomach. Once he was able to catch his breath he noticed what it was that had been dropped on him. Elizabeth Kirien-Wilson. It had been yet another night with their mom not returning home from that evil CSO's quarters. They didn't know what their mother did there, but it was bad, because they could feel her terror reverberating down the link that bound all of them together. It had been Ella's suggestion to come to sickbay to see their mom before classes. She was supposed to be at work early, but it became obvious as they walked in that their mother wasn't there. Ella looked around sickbay with a coldy calculating eye, Elizabeth let out a squeal and went running and tackling the Captain. Why Beth insisted on thinking Sash was a good person, Ella didn't know.... she could only guess that he didn't do the same things to her sister that Sash did to her. He treated Beth like she was a little princess, always having small gifts, dresses for her...For Ella....he used her. The same way that Holis used their mother, Ella guessed. "Daddy!" Beth cried, launching into his lap. Ella sighed, taking a couple steps closer to Sash. "Master." She said kneeling beside him. Sash smiled at little Ella. Inhis world these girls were precious, precocious little girls that he'd come to care for as if they were his own. They'd had a difficult, spending most of it without their father. He wondered how true it was of this universe. Undoubtedly, it was quite similar. The term, "Master" that Gabriella used, implied so much more to Sash than he dared think. Is it possible that she and Sash... . Well, the Angossian wasn't a prude, by any means, but she was but a child. ~What a world they live in.~ Then he put that thought away. he had to be careful of stray thoughts like that. "Careful of my arm Ella," he said to the younger girl. Then he turned to Gabriella. "Stand child, and come closer." Gabriella rose and walked the couple of steps closer. "It's been a while, Master, since you have called me child."Beth gave her sister a nasty look. "You are upsetting Daddy, slave. He's my Daddy and you are his slave and that is the way things are." She looked up at her Daddy Sash and cooed, "Can we have dinner in 10-Forward tonight, Daddy ?? I'll dress up in the pink dress you gave me...." Then Beth caught sight of the blood and screamed. "Ella, get help, Daddy has been hurt, Nurse, Nurse, please, my Daddy...." Ella sighed and picked up the medical tricorder. The nurses here in sickbay were more adept at dealing pain than curing it. "Master, please, I can heal the wound...you know I would never hurt you, Master." She dropped her eyes to the floor, the way she had seen her mother do, and waited for the slap from her Master for her impudence. Sash looked at her, at first with curiosity, and then with the certainty that she knew what she was doing, he nodded to her. "I know you would never hurt me. In fact, I would put my life in your hands." Then he turned to Ella, who was still laying on top of him. She had began to rub her body against his and giggle. But he stopped her and held her. "And you, my little princess, must start acting more like the princess you are and stop tormenting your sister. That is not your job." His eyes narrowed slightly, to show her that he meant what he was saying. He saw the abject fear in her eyes, then patted her bottom. "Now get out of the way so your sister can do her job. And yes, of course we can go to 10 forward for dinner. Perhaps Gabby would like to wear a pretty dress too." "But Daddy." She said softly as her sister held up the dermal regenerator and the tricorder and began to program it. "But Daddy, you've never taken Gabriella out to dinner with us before. Will this be a new game, Daddy ? Will she sit on the floor and beg food from us the way Mom..." She looked away then and giggled. Sash gave her a quizical look that Ella, being the more sensitive of the two responded to. "She's speaking of Dr. Gralen, Sir. Ever since you gave him mother...she hasn't come home many nights, Master." Ella sighed softly, choking back the tears. "There you go, Master, all patched up." Sash looked down at the repaired injury. He moved his sholder. There was still a twinge of pain, but Gabriella had done a most proficient job of repairing the injury. He looked over to her and smiled. "Very nice work," he complimented. "I think this is worthy that she can sit at the table like the rest of us." "I was careless this moring," Sash said reassuringly, "but I will make that mistake again. Besides, Zzt has alreadygiven me enough grief over it. It will take more than one attacker to be rid of me," he was trying to get into his new role, "as you well know. So don't you worry about me my sweet." Then his face changed expression as his feelings about what was happening to their mother came through. "I believe that I need to have a litte... chat with Doctor Gralen. But you need not concern yourselves with that, either. Now go, you'll be late to school. Sash will take care of everything. And make yourselves presentable for tonight." With that both girls seemed to beam a little more and they hurried out of sickbay to go to school. Sash decided that he needed to make sure that everyone on the bridge saw that he was fine, by making hims presence seen. He got out of bed and went to a replicator. After recieving a new uniform, he put it on. His shoulder still ached a little, but he used the pain to keep himself focused. Before he could move anywhere else, the door to sickbay openned to a whole new problem. Dru Tagon - 0650) As the door to the turbo lift opened Tagon's eyes darted over to seewho was coming to the bridge. His itinerary showed that they were due for a shift change, but something caught his eye. Actually it was something he caught out of the corner of his eye. Whatever it was, it wasn't there now. If it had been anyone else, they may have thaought that it was just their imagination. A gremlin, or a leprochaun. But it wasn't everyone ele, it was Dru Tagon, a Brikar, who, as a species, were not known to fits of imagination. He was cold, and analytical, and without a doubt, capable of brutalities that would surpass the imagination of others. However, he did have his weaknesses, and few people knew them. Devan Sash was one of them, as was Jeff Hyland. There was another, but that was another time. As his eyes scanned the bridge area, he kept getting the impression that someone or something was watching them. If he had hair on the back of his neck, they'd be standing on end. Then he saw it. Like part of the bridge had moved slightly. With a speed that belied his size, his huge hand reached out and wrapped itself around the thing that was disguised as part of the ship. His two huge fingers wrapped around its head and held it in place. He then proceeded to squeeze until the camoflage failed, and he stood there facing, for what he could only describe as a bald, green, scaley, lizard girl, who continued to flail and struggle in his grip. "What the hell?" he exclaimed. It took a lot to surprise the Brikar, and this thing just did. For that, he had to be impressed. "And just who, and what are you, little one?" (reply Roz) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz - Bridge - Ops - Ensign Rizoru - 0653) "What the hell? And just who, and what are you, little one?" the bigger man exclaimed, as she fought to become free again, but she stopped realizing it is useless. "mmmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm mmmm." She tried to say, but found it very hard to speak while he was holding her head. Suddenly she found that her mouth was free now, and she wondered if she should have tried to bite him. She decided against it. "I am Rizoru, but I prefer Riz. I was caged injusticely when I was brought aboard hours ago, because someone thought I was just an animal. I am much more than that, and wish to be treated with the same respect that the rest of you are given. I wish to speak with your captain." She stated hoping he would take her seriously. (Tag Lt. I am much more than that, and wish to be treated with the same respect that the rest of you are given. I wish to speak with your captain." She stated hoping he would take her seriously. However, Tagon's reaction was, most likely, much different than the one that she'd expected. He began to chuckle. A long, low rumble of a chuckle that sounded faintly like rocks being hit together. "How cute," he said, "a talking lizard that wants to be treated with respect. Who doesn't. Commander," he addressed Hyland, "can I keep it? You've always said that I need a pet." (reply Riz, Hyland) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge- Rizoru - 0656) Having heard that he wanted to keep her as a pet made her even more mad. "Listen you, I will be let go, treated with some respect, and I will be taken to the captain, or you will be very sorry." She said realizing he is made of rock, and that she has always been able to tunnel through everything including metal. She knew she could deal with him, and with her speed, she also knew that she could make it past the bridge crew and to the captain. It was all a matter of timing, and she knew that time was always on her side. She was small and fast, so there was nothing he could to do stop her. "So, how long before I make you regret grabbing me like you have, and trying to keep me as your pet? This is definately an interesting circumstance, and you will lose." She said as she started to smile. (Tag Lt. I wonder what tricks it can be taught.~ Then... it spoke. That cast a new perspective on everything. It was intelligent... it was a threat to the Empire. Dartena couldn't stand it any longer, "Now people, we all know what the standard rule is when we encounter a new intelligent life form. Down to medical for dissection and experimentation. Have I misheard her?~ Riz gulped and wondered how she was going to get out of that. "Now see here, I demand that I am released immediately, and furthermore I will be allowed to talk with your captain. This dissection business is nonsense, and no such weapon is needed. It isn't as if my people are going to attack yours, besides we have wanted to enter into the Empire, but you people won't let us. I am no threat to anyone here, and demand to see the captain." She said quickly hoping to still seem like she was in control. (Tag any/all) (Posted by Riz) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz - Bridge - FO - Commander Jeff Hyland - 0700) Jeff sat there amused at the way the bridge crew had divided over a stupid lizard. He did not care one way or another whether it was intelligent or not, it was still a lizard. He had been half tempted to give it to Tagon for a pet, but, thought better of it when the thing started to talk. He decided to listen to the crew talk about it and see what transpired before making his decision. It seemed a unanimous decision finally to let the thing live and possibly see the captain. He had no problem with the thing seeing the Captain and not any real problem if it attacked the captain. He had to maintain appearances though. "Tagon take the thing to sick bay and let it see the captain if it wishes." Jeff ordered mainly just to get it off his bridge for the time being. After Tagon left he decided that he might as well follow to make sure he did not fry the lizard up for breakfast. "Lt. Bixx you have the bridge until either I or Sash arrive back." Jeff ordered as he got up and left. (ISS Nimitz - outside sickbay - FO - Commander Jeff Hyland - 0705) Jeff saw Tagon enter sick bay as he entered the corridor and decided to wait a moment at the door to hear what Sash had to say to Tagon. He wanted to know what the captain was going to say about the Lizard girl before he entered, but, what he heard was the sniveling Lt. Dumas addressing Tagon instead. She was always licking up to the captain and whining about something or another trying to get into his good graces. "Come no closer, Tagon." She warned, her sword held in a two handed fighting stance. "This sniveling, pathetic creature has demanded to see our Liege Lord before it's life is brought to an end, and I intend to see that it does so ." And then Jeff guessed that she spoke to the lizard, "If you harm my Lord, I will personally chop you into little pieces, lizard-girl, and your death will not be a pleasant one." She thinks to get one over on me with this, she doesn't know that I ordered Tagon to take the Lizard down here in the first place. He decided that he would get the best of her and enter. He straightened his tunic and entered as if he had not been standing right outside. "Good work Lt. Tagon." Jeff said as he came around the corner and saw Tagon with the lizard close to the captain but came up short as he saw Lt. Dumas with her sword out. He pretended as if this was a surprise to him when he saw Dumas. "And pray tell Lt. Dumas your reasoning behind pointing a sword at one of the crew doing what I ordered him to do?" Jeff demanded a reply. "Make it a good one Lt. Before you begin to take up residence in the brig." Obviously its cranial capacity was suitably low that it didn't understand the true predicament it was in. ~Blustering is the common defense of animals,~ Dartena thought grinning wickedly. She began to subconsciously stroke the dagger at her side. "Demand?" Dartena said with a cruel amusement in her voice, "You demand? You're being held by a Brikar right now, you might as well be encased in solid concrete. You're on an ISS vessel surrounded by people loyal to the Empire and you have the unmittigated gall to demand?" With that, Dartena began to laugh shrilly. This creature would make a good pet if it could be taught proper deferrence. Its obliviousness to its predicament only proved to reinforce the fact it was of a weak and animalistic species, not suitable for being part of the empire. Despite the fact that Dartena was starting to think having it as a pet in a cage would be amusing, rules were rules after all. "Mr. Tagon? You know regulations. There is no way we can let this see the captain, what if its bite is venomous? We can't take that chance," Dartena said with a sugary sweetness to her voice and false innocence as she overdid her performance in a vain attempt to hide her contempt for Sash, "I don't see any other recourse but to take it down to Doctor Lemar. Is that not a correct assessment Commander Hyland?" asked Dartena with full earnestness. She was very conscious lately of Hyland's presence and was determined to ensure that the next power broker of the USS Nimitz was kindly disposed towards her. The fact that they both resented Sash was a definite plus in that department. You know nothing of my species, or you wouldn't be talking of dissecting me. I have many strengths and abilites. I am suprised no one would rather exploit them instead of the doctor cutting me open. I have just recently learned your language, and I can assure you a few simple tests can be done to show I am no threat. What have I got to gain here? I just arrived and was caged, besides the only thing I want is my freedom. Can any of you say the same thing? I am sure you all have some interior motive." He just wanted to shut her up and contemplated just giving her a little squeeze. Perhaps not enough to crush her skull, but if his hand accidentlally slipped, well... nobody would say anything. He'd make sure of that. But something about the fight this lizard/rat had in it gave him a sort of perverse pleasure. He's not sure he'd want to keep it as a pet now, but to watch it run experiments, now there was another thing. He pulled this "Riz" creature up so that he was looking in her face. "Freedom." Tagon snorted, "Don't talk to me about freedom. You have no idea what you're asking for. It is neither mine for the giving nor the taking. You are on an IFP ship, and so subject to our rules and laws. It's our Prime Directive. And if Bixx, and Hyland say you go for disection, then off to disection you go. To bad though, she'd make a good pet, if we could just snip her vocal chords." He began to move to the turbo lift. "Besides, you're too late to see the Captain," Tagon informed her. "He's indisposed at the moment." As he entered the turbo lift, got a better grip on the stuggling lizard person. "If you don't stop struggling I'll have to make you stop," he told her matter of factly. "Anyway, you'll like Dr. Lemar. he plays some fun games." And the turbolift door closed. She noticed that the words finally sunk into the imbecile's brain and he let her thru the door. She took two steps into the room, and knelt on one knee before her Captain, her long blond hair pulled tightly back into a high ponytail, her uniform baring her middrif, showing a very lean, tanned, muscular absomen.. "My Liege," She said, in the formal words of her people, "I have come to inform you that Hyland and Tagon have captured a lizard -like female creature that was brought on board from the last planet we have visited. (Tag any and all) (Posted by Riz) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash- 0708) Sash realized that it was getting quite crowded in sickbay. Apparently, this creature had caused quite a stir. He was taken a little aback by Cithy Dumas' speach. In his universe Cai came to him as a friendless ex-patriot of Doenitz's regime. She had risked everything, including the life of her former captain and ship mates, helping put an end to the attrocities that had been comitted in the name of the Federation. Funny how she always seemed to be on that side. Not moments after Dumas' arrival, came Tagon, holding the very thing that Cithy had been speaking about. Sash had never seen anything like it, although he had read reports of such a race somewhere in the Genea sector. Then Dumas went into action. "Come no closer, Tagon," she warned, holding her sword in a defensive posture. Sash looked at the Security chief who appeared to contemplate Dumas for a moment and completely dismiss her as "mostly harmless." Cithy then went on to threaten the lizard creature, who was getting the most of Sash's attention. Hyland picked that moment to show up, and turned on Dumas. "And pray tell Lt. Dumas your reasoning behind pointing a sword at one of the crew doing what I ordered him to do? Make it a good one Lt. Before you begin to take up residence in the brig." Zzt made his presence known, as if anyone could really forget the big bear creature were there, taking up most of the space. "Let me have a look at this lizard thing," Zzt said, moving up beside Dumas, staring down at Tagon, holding out his paw. "Let the Captain decide what is to be done with it." Now that appeared to have an impact on Tagon, who probably didn't relish the prospect of a tustle with the Gerratlian at this moment in time. Although Sash had always suspected that it would have been an epic battle, he also wasn't sure the the ships structural integrity could have handled the battle. He also noticed that Lemar was standing in the back ground, eating a sandwich and watchin the spectacle. The only person who didn't seeminterested at all was Kane, who remained at his post, but Sash could see his head move as he continually watched for likely attempts on the captain's life. Sash had just about had enough of the bickering when Kinkaid came stumbling out of his office. His face as red as the anger of the situation buil up in him. "What in God's green Earth do you people thin yer doin' here?" he bellowed. "The captain is suposed to be healin'. Get the hell out. All of you. And unless that thing," he pointed to Rizoru, "is under qurantine in the next thirty seconds, I'm just gonna disintegrate it right here and now." There was a moment of silence before anyone decided what to do. Kinkaid may be an alcoholic, but Sash noticed that nobody moved against him orhis words. He thought that ood. Either he had something on all of them, or he mostly likely saved all of their hydes at one point of time. Sash was suspecting the latter. Sash held up his hands. "People, people settle down, now!" He emphasized the now, and a silence came across the room. I'm not making any decision what to do with this thing right now. For the now, Lt. Tagon, set up a quartine chamber here in sick bay. Doctors, nobody, and I mean nobody, is to disturb this creature, short of feeding it. It is not to be disectd or destroyed. If I find that it has been harmed I will be... most displeased." He turned to Dumas, "I appreciate your concerns Cai, but Kane is here for now. Please wait on the bridge and check my ready room for any more surprises." (reply Dumas) "Commander," he said to Hyland, "I believe that you would best seve the ship on the bbridge at this moment. The rest of you, get back to your jobs." (reply Hyland, and all the others) With some sighs of irritation the crew grumbled their way out of the sickbay, leaving Sash alone with Kane, the two doctors and this lizard creature. Sash took a deep breath. he knew that he needed to make a show on the bridge to show that he was still in command of the ship. He just sa what could happen if his awareness lacked, even for just a moment. And the command structure of the ship falls to hell in a handbasket. "Doctor Kinkaid," he said, do I have your assurances that this creature will be left, unmolested. Kinkaid waved his hand at Sash, "Yeah, yeah, whatever." He looked at Lemar,"You understand Doctor Lemar. No experiments r even probes at this time." (reply Lemar) Then he turned to the poor creature in the quarantine chamber. "I'm sorry my little friend, but I have to go. When I come back, I promise that we will have a chat. Meanwhile, I think you're safest right here." (reply Riz) With that Sash went to the replicator and ordered a new shirt, donned and headed out the door. He motioned for Kane to follow him. Does that about cover it?" The ensign mumbled something vaguely in the waterlogged realms of 'yes'. "Well, to be perfectly honest, it's understandable that your wife's playing away. I mean what have you got to offer her? It's seven in the -ing morning and instead of giving her a onceover before your shift, you're sitting here crying your eyes out in the office of a man who'd rather be in your quarters -or more precisely, your wife's bed - that listen to you. I mean, if i was in your position, I wouldn't get up for work. I'd be having the time of my life - I mean, look at your wife. She's something else isn't she? She could launch a thousand starships with one flash of her tit - ***k knows what she could do with two! And her arse is..." The counsellor turned and scowled at the ensign. The man had starting sobbing again. While Harrison didn't care about that, the man had done so while the counsellor was mid-speech. "Look, i'm a busy man," he said, with another flick of the wrist, sending his PADD across the room, "If I tell you who's -ing your wife, will you ***k off?" The ensign looked shocked and asked how the counsellor knew "It's me," John grinned. The ensign rose, his fists clenched. John burst out in cruel laughter. "Sit down, sit down, i'm only -ing with you," he grinned, "Everybody falls for that. You should have seen your -ing face." The ensign sat and demanded to know who it was. "It's that bloke you work with. Biesseman. Came in here bragging about what a good lay you were then told me not to tell you." The ensign opened his mouth to speak but John stopped him. "Why am I telling you? Well, the counsellor-patient confidentiality thing doesn't mean a -ing thing to me. Plus, i can't wait to see you beat that guy to a -ing pulp. More importantly, you're going to do me a favour in exchange for me giving you this information." The ensign put a questioning look on his face. "You're going to let me have a go with your wife." The ensign frowned and prepared to protest. "Look, it's simple. Either you let me have a bit of fun with your wife, or I tell Biesseman that you've been enjoying all that HIS wife has to offer." (ISS Nimitz - Corridor - COUNS - Commander John Harrison - 0715) John strolled along the corridor, looking for the ensign's quarters. He loved being a counsellor - it gave you all the access to juicy stuff like this. Of course, enjoying an ensign's wife was just small play. Throughout his career, he'd used the personal demons of his co-workers on the senior staff for blackmail purposes. It had been remarkably easy, he thought, and he'd even risen to the ranks of Commander by doing, well, ***k all. Most had to work hard or kill their way up the ranks, but all he had to do is remind the Admiral aboard his last ship that he knew all about the substantial funds that he had stolen from the Empire and stashed away as a retirement fund. He found the appropriate door and, using his vocal override, walked in without waiting for the wife to grant him permission. "Is there something I can do for you?" the wife asked indignantly. The negligee she was wearing was incredible, but not as mouth-wateringly tempting as what lay beneath it. In a rare show of guilt, the counsellor mused that it would be a shame to rip such an expensive, if revealing, garment. (reply any, none) (posted by James Batchelor) --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash - 0732) Sash had been spending his time out of sickbay going over the ship reports. He needed to find out what was going on, not only with himself, but also with the ship. Reports carried a great deal of implied information, such as, you knew just what the hell was going on. It was a science report that helped him the most though. Apparently they were looking to reopen the spacial rift between the two universes. "Good morning Captain," said an unfamiliar voice, that caused Sash to jump just a little. "And where do our orders take us today?" Sash, fortunately, had a quick look at the command roster and recognized this person as Lt. Commander Edward Wolfe, SFI. Sash had never been a huge fan of SFI. He hated all the cloak and dagger crap. And this guy looked and acted like a pro. "I'm hoping," Sash was trying to think fast on his feet, from what little he read, "that today's the day that we break through the rift." He could feel the slight tingle that had become familiar to him, as his mind was being probed. Wolfe's companion must be Lronen, the telepath. His mind instantly went to work creating the barrier he had created the last time he was herer. Interlocking thoughts around random and recuring phrases wove together to confuse even the best telepaths. "Perhaps," he tried to offer him something that might cause them to leave him alone, "you might be able to persuade the science department to work a little faster." (reply Wolfe) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash and Lt. Comdr Wolfe- 0732) "I will take care of that issue, however, if I could have a word with you for a moment, in private. I have received... word," stated Wolfe. Sash had an idea that he was about to learn something of great interest, to himself if not this ship. He followed the SFI agent to his ready room. He didn't want to make a big deal of this, as he wasn't exactly sure how to deal with it. So he just went along. (ISS Nimitz - Readyroom - CO - Captain Devan Sash - 0743) Sash walked around his desk and sat down. Then he motioned to the chair across from him. He was trying to hard to maintain control, and he realized it. He needed to just let things be for now. "Captain Doenitz is in our area. He is rallying a small fleet together, or attempting to, with promises of 'freedom' and 'democracy' throughout the empire. As you can imagine, the Emperor is not amused," stated Wolfe directly. "Captain Doenitz?" he blurted out. ~CaptainDoenitz? What a world.~ "Doenitz has been a thorn in the Empire's side for too long," Wolfe continued, "ever since he 'saw the error of his ways' as he puts it." Wolfe went on to give a small report on Doentiz, that Sash found most helpful. Then Wolfe explained about the small fleet that was heading their way. " We are the first line against him. We are also to gather information about his fleet and transmit it back to the Command." "This on top of our primary objective?" Sash was talking to himself as much as Wolfe. "And what of Doenitz?" "Doenitz is a fairly formitable foe. He has fought in as many, if not more, battles than you have. He also seems to inspire loyalty throughout his people," replied Edward, "That makes him extremely dangerous. Right now most of the command crews of the ships mentioned enroute are fairly seasoned. There are a couple new faces however. Captain Saleke of the Wolverine has just received his commission. He is extremely able, but is still getting used to his ship. You know Captain Casely of the Razorback, also new to his commission and getting used to his ship. It may be necessary for you to direct them both. I am aware of your historical problems with Casely. He did try to kill you after all, and almost succeeded. Well... he succeeded on the Razorback and is now Captain. The Empire wishes you to put your differences aside. I never understood why you transferred him instead of killing him anyway." "Let's just say," Sash said cryptically, "that he earned it." Edward nodded, "Now, on to other things. I hear there was a 'problem' this morning." Edward glanced over at Lronen and smiled, "How would you like that dealt with?" "For the moment," Sash sat back, contemplating all his new information, "I have Commander Hyland working on it. Once he finds the person responsible, I may have need of your... services." Edward raised an eyebrow. "You realise that it is wholly possible that he is the one who is responsible." "I don't think so," Sash replied. "Hyland would want to do it himself. Besides, the attempt was so bungled, it just doesn't have the ear marks of a Hyland hit." "There is a reason that he is the age he is, and still not a Captain. I wouldn't rule the possibility out," replied Edward, turning on his heal in classic fascist fashion. "And that," said Sash rising from his seat, "is why I depend on you." "Of course," replied Edward almost sarcastically. All these years and Sash still didn't get it. SFI didn't work for the vessels they were on. SFI worked directly for the Emperor. If Edward determined that Hyland would make a better Captain than Sash, he would happily allow Hyland to assume command. So far, Hyland hadn't approached him with anything close to a decent offer however. So, Sash it was. With that they both headed to the bridge, with Wolfe's pet telepath following closely. (reply none) (posted by Al Muir and Jeffrey Bergeron) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge - SFI Officer - Lieutenant Commander Edward Wolfe - 0737) Wolfe listened to the Captain's description of what they were working on. He glanced over at Lronen. The man looked... confused. Then Lronon rolled his eyes. A signal that Sash was once again blocking the telepath. Wolfe suppressed a chuckle and then looked Sash straight in the eye. "I will take care of that issue, however, if I could have a word with you for a moment, in private. I have received... word," stated Wolfe, knowing that the captain would understand that cryptically phrased statement. With that, Edward got up and walked straight for the Captain's readyroom with Lronen flanking him. He knew the Captain would follow. He had no choice really, this was an intelligence briefing. This was the area where Edward took pre-eminence. (Reply Sash) (ISS Nimitz - Readyroom - SFI Officer - Lieutenant Commander Edward Wolfe - 0742) Wolfe watched as Sash came in and sat down behind his desk. Edward suppressed another chuckle, the big man was trying to assert himself again. "Captain Doenitz is in our area. (Reply Sash) "Doenitz has been a thorn in the Empire's side for too long, ever since he 'saw the error of his ways' as he puts it," stated Wolfe, hitting a key on his PADD. The picture of Doenitz suddenly appeared on a screen in the room. "Doenitz is flying a Keltoi Class vessel, the USS Valkerie. We don't know what modifications it has. He has assembled a small fleet loyal to him. Several vessels, including the Boudicca, the Dennison, the Spectre, the Wolverine and the Razorback are on their way to intercept. We are the first line against him. We are also to gather information about his fleet and transmit it back to the Command," stated Edward. (Reply Sash) "Doenitz is a fairly formitable foe. (Reply Sash) (Posted by Jeff) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge- CO/FO- Capatain Sash and Commander Hyland- 0745) "So, what did the doctor say about your recent little excursion in the ready room?" Jeff asked not really that interested in what the doctor had to say, unless that Sash was not going to be around long. Sash snorted. "Dr. Kinkaid was not in much of a condition to say much of anything. I think he slept through the whole event. I'd be curious if he even remembered I was there. However, as you can see, I'm relatively unharmed. You don't seriously think that I can be so easily put out of commision?" Jeff knew that the only reason Sash made it out of sickbay so quickly was that he did not have a hand in what happened. If he had, Sash would either be dead or in a comma, but, he was just not ready to move to boldly,,,, yet. "Well, I guess that is why you have been in charge for so long." Jeff replied to him giving away no emotion one way or the other. It was of common knowledge that the two of them really did not like one another but did work together. They were a pretty good team when not conspiring against each other. "I am glad that the transdimensional portal will be up and running soon, then, we can raid the other side for what we need to gain a higher foothold in this war." Jeff said as he was thinking that some how he had to gather enough techno gadgets maybe to get rid of Sash. Jeff knew that he had Tagon on his side as Tagon really did not like Zzt the crazed Bear rug and Bixx as Sash really did her dirty when he threw her out of his bed like an old rug. Yes, well," Sash was wondering what Hyland was trying to get at. As he recalled, the fastest way for an FO to get promoted, was to kill his CO. He wouldn't have been surprised if Hyland may have been behind his attack this morning. "I can't wait for this waiting to be over. I think it's making us all a little more jumpy. And perhaps a little careless. So tell me ...Commander," he used the title as if it were an insult, "what do you know of this man Ramirez, who tried to kill me?" "Well Sash," Jeff started his reply insult to insult, "I did not know his name, but, give me a second and I will pull up what the ships records have on him. Are you suggesting that I had something to do with what happened?" Jeff really did not like to be accused out in the open like this and in front of all the bridge crew. It would just give him one more reason to kill him especially after what he did to Bixx. Sash looked at Hyland, fighting to hide the shock from his eyes. He knew that in this universe a moment of weakness would be exploited, most usually to the point of their death. He was the still the captain, and in order to maintain that position he was going to have to exert himself as such. He let anger flash through his eyes. A controled anger that he saw made Hyland pause. Then he stood to his full height nad looked down at the FO. "If I had wanted to accuse you of something," he said, "Commander, then I would have done so by removing you from your current position... permanently. Further more, you WILL address me as Captain, unless you have tired of serving on this ship. I can arrange for a transfer if you wish it." He remembered that transfers was a nice euphamism for a tour of duty in a pain booth. It doesn't matter what the cause, Jeff let no man look down on him. Jeff stood up to look Sash in the eyes as much as he could. Sash was two inches taller than he was but he made up for it in sheer muscle. Looking at Sash eye to eye and almost nose to nose, "Aye 'Captain'" Jeff said giving full emphasis to the word captain as if in disdain. He will be glad when he would be able to take this captain down and put him under the ship. But, for now, he'd wait. "I will expect your full report on this Ramirez character, " Sash did not flinch. He really didn't worry aobut Hylands famed experience in killing people with his bare hands. An Angosian tends to be a little harder to kill, after all, killing was what they were bred and trained to do. Sash was fairrly certain that the Angosians of this universe were most likely war dogs without conscience. "And I want it within the hour, or Mr. Kane will come to get it." He indicated over to his body guard. "You are dismissed, Mister." There was a slight pause while Sash thought that Hyland might actually leap for his CO's throat. However the moment came and passed, and Hyland turned on his heel and left the bridge. Sash sat in his seat and subconsciously sighed in relief. He could see how easy it could be to get drawn into these emotions and this world. (reply Hyland) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz - Bridge - CSO, Lt. Commander Holis Gralen - 0750) Holis spent quite some time on the bridge stewing over the remarks made by the Commander and Brikarian before they left the bridge about having the lizardine creature known as Rizoru tortured in Medical, the very thought of it was revolting. He did not however forget to keep an eye on Bixx, he knew her to be a power-hungry and capricious *****, although Holis wasn't in the direct command line he also was NOT one of her allies and knew that in the event she became unhappy with him she... like 85% of the other officers on this ship, would not hesitate to kill him if she could. The thought of assassination gave him an idea but he quickly dismissed it, Dr. Lemar might be a lush and a complete incompetent but he WAS an ACMO and if he was knocked off through some means and Holis was even suspected the bribes he had been paying to insure his continued good health would be completely wasted. And then there was Hyland whom Holis despised, he had the Brikarian as an ally and would be doubly difficult to destroy though the Betazoid CSO knew that given enough time he could design something appropriate for the demise of both of them. In the meantime the best way to strike at Hyland would be to undermine him whenever possible and Holis had figured a way to do just that as well as get his own concerns aired. The computer showed that the Commander and Brikarian were indeed in Medical along with the Captain so the CSO pressed the Com and spoke into it. "Captain Sash I disagree with Commander Hylands plans to direct the creature known as Rizoru to the medical staff, investigations of heretofore unknown species are the job of the science department and not Medical. I must strongly protest this." (Reply: Sash) "I would be happy to open the science labs to the dissection of the creature Captain so that it may be properly catagorized and DNA mapped." (Reply: Sash) (Posted by Charles) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge - CO- Captain Devan Sash- 0755) Sash watched Hyland leave the bridge. He wasn't sure if the man would try to kill him right there, but he was sure that he wanted to. He shook his head, once again trying notto think about the world he was in. Then he heard Hollis Gralen and his shoulder. "Captain Sash I disagree with Commander Hyland's plans to direct the creature known as Rizoru to the medical staff, investigations of heretofore unknown species are the job of the science department and not Medical. I must strongly protest this." "Must you," Sash said, remembering that he needed to talk to this man about his treatment of Michaela Kirian and her daughters. "And what would you advise, doctor." "I would be happy to open the science labs to the dissection of the creature Captain so that it may be properly catagorized and DNA mapped." "Well, let's not be too hasty in chpping this speciman into little pieces just yet," Sash told him. "There are still a few questions that I would like it to answer, like how it got on board the Nimitz in the first place. It wanted to join the crew, so I'd like to know why. I've become quite... curious. Is that alright with you? Doctor?" (reply Gralen) He wanted to talk to Gralen now, about the Kirien-Wilsons, but he needed to know moe about where he stood with everyone. he needed more allies, not just the ones that were allied out of duty, but htose who could understand his predicament. "I'm going down there in a little while to have a chat with it," Sash informed Gralen. "After that, I will inform everyone of the disposition of the creatue." (reply Gralen) (posted by Al Muir) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Bridge - CSO, Holis Gralen - 0756) Holis caught more than a bit of irritation from Sash at his offer to have the creature known as Rizoru properly investigated which made Holis smile, getting under Sash's skin was a satisfying little sideline to the current situation. "Well, let's not be too hasty in chopping this specimen into little pieces just yet. There are still a few questions that I would like it to answer, like how it got on board the Nimitz in the first place. It wanted to join the crew, so I'd like to know why. I've become quite... curious. Is that alright with you? Doctor?" The sarcasm was not lost on Holis who's eyes narrowed a bit as he caught the whiff from the Captains normally iron clad manner that there was something else that was on his mind as regards to the Betazoid, what it was he didn't know yet but until then he had best watch his back... very carefully. "Of course Captain. I'll have the lab readied for later if needed." The Captain paused for a moment as though weighing his options before abruptly making his decision. "I'm going down there in a little while to have a chat with it, after that, I will inform everyone of the disposition of the creature." Holis nodded slowly as Sash stood up from the command chair and left the bridge, that last portion of his order, spoken with a hint of steel in his voice told Holis volumes but he decided to continue with the preparations, perhaps Sash would change his mind... or perhaps someone else would make the final decision. Holis smiled viciously as he turned back toward the station, after all if Command found out he was harboring a dangerous alien they might well overule him ... and even perhaps decide they needed someone on board in command who would make less, shall we say questionable decisions in regards to the safety of the Empire. His fingers flew over the keys as he prepared a dispatch while the cunning look in his eyes continued to grow. (Reply: Any) (Posted by Charles) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (Mirror USS Nimitz - Quarters - ACEO - Lieutenant Miles O'Neill - 0900) Miles woke up, in a bad mood, and put on his uniform. ~Another day of mind-numbingly easy work. Great.~ He thought as he exited his quarters. He made his way to Engineering, ignoring any greetings that came his way. (Mirror USS Nimitz - Main Engineering - ACEO - Lieutenant Miles O'Neill - 0910) "I don't care what you think, I've done the math, and my way is correct!" Miles snapped at the engineer. They were discussing energy flow ratios of various systems, and Miles had done calculations on these ratios, however what he didn't know was that he was off by a little. "If you would just listen to me, I think you did these incorrectly, sir-" "Did I ask your opinion? Just input these ratios into the computer, and shut up about it!" Miles replied. The engineer left, and Miles said, mostly to himself, "Idiot." (Reply any) (Posted by Matt Kirk) --------------------------------------------------------------------- (ISS Nimitz- Sickbay - CO- Captain Devan Sash- 1000) Sash had managed to get some research done, inhis ready room. The Sash of this unverse was a very careful man. His computer systemhad a totally independent access routine to the shared database of the ship. That made it virtually undetectible to find out what he was doing, remotely. Unless someone was actually stand over his shoulder, he was pretty safe from anyone spying on his computer activities. He had learned a great deal more about this mission and about this Devan Sash. reading through log reports and personal logs, he'd discovered many things about his alter ego that he wasn't to happy with. But he could also start to see how things were working out. He had gotten tired of reading on the screen and decided that he needed some activity. It was probably a good time to go down and check on this Rizoru. As he was about to enter sick bay, something caught his eye. Just out of the ccorner of his eye, really. It was a woman. Or atlesat, it looked like a woman. And all he could hear was a familiar laugh. But as he turned to look right at her, she was gone. Sash shook his head and went into sickbay. He looked in the CMO's office to find the man fast asleep, with an open bottle of, what smelled to be, some kind of strong alcohlic beverage lying open. Th reek of alcohol and poor hygiend in the office was staggering. There appeared to be no sign of Lemar, until he went into sick the main sickbay area. He heard the sounds of struggling and Sash peeked around a shilded area to see Lemar in a state of undress and apparently forcing himself upon a nurse. He stepped back, unnoticed and shook his head. Then he stepped over to the containment area that Tagon had set up to Rizoru. He looked in at the creature laying there on the floor. It didn't appear to be hungry, as it hadn't eaten any food that it had been given. "So," Sash said, "what is a Rizoru? And why should I let you live?" (reply Riz) (posted by Al Muir)
